Meet Sams Studios Owner, Shanah Sams
Shanah’s passion for music began before she can even remember. From an early age, she performed on stage alongside her father and uncle, both members of the Country and Western Swing Music Hall of Fame. She began studying piano at the age of five and pursued her musical education through college, developing the foundation for a lifelong career in the performing arts.
Shanah served as Assistant Minister of Music at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Abilene from 2004 to 2007 and at Southwest Drive United Methodist Church from 2007 to 2009. After relocating to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, she balanced family life with her continued dedication to music, teaching at Kids, Inc. from 2013 to 2016 and offering private voice and piano instruction since 2014.
Her love for performance extends beyond the classroom. Having begun acting in local theater productions at age nine, Shanah remains active in the stage community today. Her experience spans directing and performing in venues ranging from church productions and school ensembles to bluegrass festivals, operas, and community theaters. She has had the honor of directing and performing on renowned stages such as Disney, Universal Studios, the Grand Ole Opry, and Carnegie Hall.
Shanah finds her greatest joy in her students’ success. Many of her students have earned awards for vocal excellence and pursued studies at prestigious colleges of music, theater, and the arts. Some of her students have gone on to perform on Broadway and appear on The Voice and American Idol. Her students have achieved remarkable milestones. Notable achievements in the last two years include 14 students who have earned lead roles in school and community theater productions, 2 have been selected for the Texas All-State Choir, 9 have qualified for national honors, and 5 have won national titles.
